Actually the issue isn’t that to stop one and all that. Its that they do it TOO MUCH. Women are pretty much ALWAYS sexualize and often to the point of being NOT HUMAN anymore. We’re just product placement. Ass and titties and no value but that they can shove between our legs. HOW many commercials can you think of that has men sexualized? AND NOT with them still being the ‘dominate’ over some woman?

I can think of, well Old Spice guy (but they still let him have personality, a FACE. he’s campy as shit and hilarious) And then we got this guy up here.

Compared to the I’ve lost count so many billboards, tv commercials, beer ads, and everything else with naked or nearly naked women who aren’t even ALLOWED to look like they are enjoying themselves. This guy up here is at least smiling. He’s having fun with this. He’s being silly. A girl in a similar position? Wouldn’t get to be silly. No, she’d have to pout her lips. But then likely we won’t even see her face. Just side boobs and near crotch shot, likely lots of the side of her ass and long legs. She would have no personality besides whatever we stuffed between her legs and the fact that she’d have to be hot enough every man out there would want to fuck her and think they would deserve it are entitled to it.

So, no. I actually don’t have a problem with sexualizing in advertising. I have a problem with the disparity and the WAY its done. My body is mine. To give how, when, or IF I want. No one ‘deserves’ it no one is ‘entitled’ to have it just because my penis is a clitoris and I have a hole between my legs.

My uncle has passed, and currently it feels like my life is on hold while I wait for funeral arrangements.

At the moment I do not even know if I will go, while this is not as far as it will be to get to my father’s. still the fact I need plane tickets and a hotel. I can’t stay with my aunt or anywhere near, because they are smokers and heavy ones and I have allergies.

Going to need at least two nights at a hotel, airfare and a car. (as can’t really fly right into the town there isn’t a big enough airport, so have to hit OKC and then drive a couple hours.)

Well, with some looking up, I could just rent a car, about 200 bucks for a car and then another 200 for hotel. which is cheaper than the added plane fair too.. then gas, and food.. so about 500. 9 hour drive one way and one very tired la at the end of it..

but better than a plane, I hate planes. I will not get into the reasons I hate planes because I am likely to insult someone with the way I detest planes, security checks, and most the people flying on them. (On the other hand, I like crew. Most of the flight attendants have always been incredibly nice to me whenever I’ve had to fly. One time my knee gave out, a pilot not only got me a chair and wheeled me to my flight, but they held is a couple minutes (only 5, not like it was 15 or 20) because I would have missed it. Another time I came down with a horrible cold. The lady just let me listen to my ipod and sleep without being bothered. Didn’t wake me til after we landed and everyone had gotten off. She called for someone to come around and picked me up. I didn’t even have to go through the terminal! They got my luggage and got me to a taxi.)

I’m rambling now.. but yeah, if I though I could actually get anyone to commisson me for any substantail amount I’d try for anotehr commission set.

I barely got 60 dollars off the last and I was trying to get money ahead of time for seeing my DAD who is dying. Let alone this being my uncle.

I guess everyone thinks its cute to help someone get a chicken, send a kid to disney land or help two girls in love meet eachother from across the world, but won’t help an artist willing to work for it to say goodbye to her family.

Sorry I don’t mean to sound bitter, just. hurting.

Uncle george, was my inspiration. He did so much. Fought in vietnam, he use to go to the crab boats in alaska, he lived as much of his life as he could in the mountains. That was the place he was happiest. He was my uncle, the mountain man. With his salt and pepper beard and always taking me and my brother Tim out into the woods. I learned to hunt, to track game, to fish. I can build a snare and light a fire without matches. I know how to treat water to make sure its clean and gutted my first fish with him. (stupid little sunfish. He actually got the ridiculous thing mounted. He was so proud.) Taught me to build shelter and survive in the forest. He even taught me how to pet a deer. We laughed at wrestling and I use to help him sort his knives and clean them.

Uncle George always told me I could do anything, be anything, and no one could tell me otherwise. Not because of my gender, my beliefs or anything.

For the past couple years I’ve been watching my father die. Today I got word that he took a bit of a turn for the worst. So, its still a waiting game, but one who’s timer decided to reset itself shorter.

My uncle though, he has cancer. And tonight I found out he had a stroke, the cancer is in his lungs and well, as I hate to say it, we may end up suing the hospital he is at for malpractice because they FUCKED UP, when the cancer was small and could have been handled, they PUSHED IT UP FROM THE SMALL BIT OF BONE INTO HIS HIP.

It spread from there.

So my uncle, the brave mountain man, is saying his last goodbyes. They have him on comfort measures. And his only wish currently is to go with a certain amount of dignity and justice. Because while he is old and likely didn’t have that many years left in his life, if they had pulled this shite on a younger person? Someone with a family?

Yeah, that’s my uncle george.

How did you get started as a paid writer?

When I was twelve I published some short stories and poetry in a children’s magazine that is no longer in print. But then that led me to writing articles and other short pieces for magazines and these days, blogs. I have a few books that I am in various stages of complete and know I will see publication on.

But overall, to be a paid writer you just gotta get out there and put your work forth. Most writers don’t even become famous. We don’t make loads of money. Its a job, like any other. But there is a call for writers for young people as well as children. But especially that 10-15 bracket.

And thanks to authors like Rowling, we are no longer limited to the 130 pages that many publishers thought for the longest time was all kids wanted. It was in a way how I get into writing. I was too young for many of the subjects of adult work. But i had read nearly everything there was to read in the children’s and young adult sections of my library. (I wasn’t into romances even then. I like fantasy and Sci-fi)

And I wanted more. I wanted bigger books and more depth and detail and well, basically i wanted the breath of works we got for adults but without the sex.

So I started to write. I also was learning illustration as well at this point. Learning to draw, so between the writing and the drawing I had quite a busy childhood!

I’ve had a few set backs to finishing the novels. Death of a parent, and a sibling, moving a whole bunch…

But you just keep working at it and if its what you want to do. You can do it.
