*Her contemplation is quickly resolved as they move, clambering onto their lap to cuddle into them. She’s dragged the blanket with her and she rubs the corner of it against her nose while she sucks her thumb, looking at the words. Some of them she knows, others not so much.*
It was a slightly older children’s story. About a young lady who wanted to be a Knight. She traded places with her twin brother and went off to train to be a Knight of the kingdom. Battling many hardships and winning her shield.
It was a favorite of Lacy’s since she was a young woman.
The little grub was flopped on its back and blowing snot bubbles. The door was also partially open if she chose to leave. Lacy was humming just down the hall as she read a book in a large comfy chair.
*The sight of the grub makes Nepeta giggle, hands pressed over her mouth to muffle the sound. It doesn’t take her long to explore the nursery and she exits the room, pulling the blanket with her. She finds Lacy and stands next to them, contemplating the choice of sitting on their lap.*

I rather doubt that.
He has been a kind and dear friend whom I know on tumblr and off it. The only ‘hate’ I’ve received I known exactly whom its come from and for why.

I love that there’s a blog called “this is white culture” that is solely devoted to bad things white people did, not their cultures at all. So I guess I can make a blog called “this is black culture” and post gang and crime records and that’s 100% okay. Or “this is Muslim culture” and make it all about terrorism.
But wait, you cry. Not all black people are criminals and not all Muslims are terrorists. That’s unfair! And racist!
WELL GOLLY GEE DO YOU THINK SO? Because saying that all white people are responsible for the Atlantic slave trade sounds pretty racist to me, given that, you know, that was between the African slaveholders and the British and Americans and had absolutely nothing whatsoever to do with my ancestors, who were incredibly poor farmers and serfs from Ireland and Lithuania who had to flee to America at around the turn of the century (by which time slavery had already been abolished in the US) because they were being treated like slaves. Even if they had been living in America at the time when slavery was legal they wouldn’t have been able to afford a slave; in fact they probably would have been working with them in the fields and treated about the same, since the first slaves in America were actually white serfs. But please, tell me more about how dirty my hands are because of circumstances surrounding my birth that I could not control and continue to treat me differently based on the color of my skin without actually knowing anything about my heritage, I’m sure that isn’t racist at all!

How about I add how my ancestry is black irish, german jew and Chippewa (AS IN NATIVE AMERICAN) not only were MY ancestors chased out of their country, many KILLED during the second world war on account of their faith OR HAD THEIR COUNTRY STOLEN FROM THEM. Makes ME racist and accountable for BLACK AFRICAN MEN SELLING THEIR OWN PEOPLE to British and later American traders.

Oh how about this one, I have documentation in the form of a family bible passed down in my family that has names of EVERY ESCAPED SLAVE MY FAMILY HELPED as members of the underground railroad.
We put them in OUR FAMILY BIBLE. As in they were considered FAMILY.
Several of my brothers and my sisters married african americans and my baby sister’s first husband was directly from Africa. (Togo, south of Nigeria) ALL of my baby sister’s children are black. Of 26 nieces and nephews in my family OVER HALF are mixed with African American, Hispanic and other nationalities.
So yes, at the moment the only thing I have to say is.
